Community & Support

We work with voluntary groups so they can help meet the need in their local area and support rural communities to access competitive heating prices through our Oil Buying Club.

Oil Buying Club

Use heating oil? Save money, time and stress – join our community Oil Buying Club now.

How it works:
• We contact oil companies and source the best price on a specific date
• We contact you and tell you the price
• You place your order
• You pay the supplier direct following your delivery

Club membership is £27 a year, which covers our admin costs. There is no limit to the number of times you can order in the year.

Good Neighbours Schemes

Good Neighbours schemes are run by volunteers who offer help to people in their local community with various tasks, such as shopping and help in the garden, or befriending by visiting and having a chat. The schemes allow people maintain their independence and help to strengthen local communities by bringing them together.

Community Resource provides advice and guidance on setting up a Good Neighbours scheme and continuing support once the group is established.

We can:
• Help identify if a group is needed
• Advise on considerations before setting one up
• Support with volunteer recruitment
• Signpost to other areas of support
• Highlight potential funding opportunities

If you would like to find out if there are any Good Neighbours or community support groups already in your area, please get in touch.
